Ven. David Chimezie Nwanekpe

The Rector, Venerable David Nwanekpe, was ordained by Rt. Rev. Chijioke Oti, PhD, Bishop of the Diocese on the Lake. He became a Canon of the Cathedral Church of St Mary Magdalene, Oguta. Additionally, he was preferred as Archdeacon on special duty to the Bishop by the same Rt. Rev. Chijioke Oti. He was also preferred as Archdeacon in the USA for the second time by Rt. Rev. Dr. Felix Orji, the then Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the West. He was later collated as Archdeacon by Rt. Rev. Kay Adebogun, the then Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Trinity.,Now the Anglican Diocese of Trinity was dissolved by the church of Nigeria General Synod on the 15 of SEPTEMBER 2023.at Nnewi in Nigeria 

Furthermore, he was appointed as Archdeacon Directorates of Knighthood and currently serves as the CONNAM Council of Knights and Ladies chaplain, appointed by the Primate of all Nigeria. Ordained as a priest of the Church of Nigeria, he began his ministry in 2003 in the Anglican Diocese on the Niger, Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria, as a church teacher. Later, he was transferred to Igbokeny for mission work at St. Mary’s Igbokenyi, where he transformed the station into a parish. Passionate about missionary work, he pastored in various Anglican parishes, including St. Christopher’s Onitsha (Diocese on the Niger), St. Mary’s Igbokenyi, Emmanuel Anglican Church Onon in the Diocese of Mbamili, St. Paul’s Ubah Agwa, St. Paul’s Ndi-Onyenobi Oguta, St. Michael’s Agwa in the Anglican Diocese on the Lake, Anglican Uka Ndi Igbo Bronx New York, CONNAM.

He possesses a wealth of experience in pastoral ministry and is a social media content creator on church traditions and liturgy. Also, he hosts the TV program “PEW AND THE PULPIT” with Advent Cable Network Nigeria (ACNN). Passionate about Anglican traditions, he is a traditional priest, evangelist, and dedicated pastor.

Venerable David Nwanekpe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies (BA Hon) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Trinity Theological College Umuahia (B.TH), a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution (MA), a Diploma in Theology (Dip.Th), he holds an honorary doctor of Divinity.

Hailing from Izombe in Oguta LGA of Imo State, he is a devoted husband and father of three children, consisting of three girls and a boy.
